I missed this video in my feed. I had some wireguard clients using google DDNS that went down. After looking at the logs, I seen that ddns wasn't connecting. I also missed the google email.

Good news. EdgeSwitch 10 XG firmware version is now 1.10.1. I left the older firmware version 1.9.3 on the Backup side. The update worked without any problems. 😃

I would like to install Netbird and only allow it to connect from certain countries before it even gets to Netbird itself. On Mikrotik it is easy, just import an address list. UFW is similar, just run a command pointing to a list. Seems like I need to look at how to do it from CLI on Unifi. As for RDP EvlWatcher will reduce failed login attempts. Besides the firewall source list. I would not use MFA alone since in (65%) of cases, RDP is used to establish initial access to the target endpoint.

Imo this is the best switch in this price point. They need to get hot swap dual psu and stacking with mclag before I can deploy it outside of side work.

I have given up on PPSK. So now what I am thinking is to create four different SSID's that each have their own VLAN ID assigned however, I want most of them to work on the 6ghz 6e band with WPA3.. I have a U6LR that can but the performance is awful even if you are standing 1 foot, 25 ' or 50' away. It is fed by a 2.5ghz port switch on my Mikrotik Switch_CRS310-8G+2S+IN. Ineternet is 1.2Gbps and router is pfsense on Intel i5 with 2.5 gbps port going to 2.5gbps port on switch. My i7 PC in the same room on 10g port to switch gets 806 gpbs internet speeds an U6LR gets 425 Mbps when all these devices are in 1 small room. Does anyone know a list of AP's that can do this and maintain WPA3 on 6ghz?

What's the point of spending time on new firmware when you can't even buy the switches? How many *years* has it been since the ES-16-XG was available for purchase....4....more? Until they actually have product that can be purchased I'm still considering it a dead product line and will continue to avoid it. They have 3 of 15 different models of switches available on their store currently....how impressive 🙄

Slight tangent; I bought an EdgeRouter X (no, two…) like eons ago, based on some of your early videos about them. It’s still running my LAN, with about 45 clients of all kinds. I’d say that for this tiny box, that’s quite impressive. I never had to reset/reflash the thing, just tinker and change the config across those years. 😊

true, that was like that in good old times of SQUID and such. now with modern certificates and techs like Certificate Pinning, OCSP Stapling all that rendered obsolete and in majority cases will not work, unless target website doesn't use any of these, which for financial organizations for example is never the case nowadays. All that was specifically designed to mitigate MITM attack what basically any SSL inspections is.

Is this the same as HTTPS filtering in Adguard on Android? They require the user install a CA from Adguard and inspect and filter ads?

I’ve only heard of Cisco, so i really wanted to hands on and use Cisco . So i went with a used old switch and now SMB 150ax. Tbh, for the price it’s not really that amazing, but considering it’s Cisco, it’s honestly the only series I can afford. And now, I’m struggle with RMA with my 150ax. But now, we are expanding (setting up a new site in China), and I want to try ubiquiti unifi. It’s expensive but I’ve never found anything about contract and license, thought that they have hidden it hard like Cisco or netgear, but it turns out to be nonexistent. Honestly, I haven’t buy the r equipments yet. But if they worked out, and worked out well , i think i might stick with ubiquiti for the rest of my life! (I’m still young, I think this might still change tho XD)
